I read lots of these westerns in my teens. I'm in my 60s now so decided to give it a try again. The characters were compelling. The storyline seemed amateurish to me. I got the feeling that this was an early writing project of Max Brand and that he got a lot better after this one. I did enjoy reading it, however; and I wouldn't discourage anyone from this reading experience. I almost could picture it as a 1950s movie with Marlon Brando in the lead role.Product details

I don't usually read dusters. This one was entertaining to a point, but I couldn't understand the motivation of the main character.

I read books i don't write them so can't think what else to say.
I like westerns and really prefer Louis L'Amour type, but found this a good read. My spouse didn't like it as well, but doesn't like westerns as much as I do.
I enjoyed the book very much. It was quick reading and interesting. Silvertip was an honorable man with a high degree on integrity. Characteristics which are very hard to find these day..
I enjoyed this book because it didn't spend the first few chapters in giving background. It got started with the action and didn't stop till the end. The story was a little weak but is one of the better books that I have read lately.
